title: girls night out. i kinda think singapore is beautiful at night, especially the city area, when all the hustle and bustle dies down at 9 pm. there are fewer cars on the road, less people around, less noise, less rush. the roads are so empty you can lie on them and look at the stars. sometimes we say that the ends, justify the means. i do agree for tonight.
had like a mini-adventure after watching the imaginarium of dr parnassus with beatrice and jiayan today. the movie was good. very cool, but hard to catch the storyline if you dont know whats going on, like by the time you understand who's who and what's going on, its over. lucky i read the spoilers first. :) anyways, our target dinner spot was timbre@old school, so i used beatrice's 3G linked iphone, and found directions to the mount sophia car park from the cathay. got there, saw this indian guy stationed at the carpark barrier there taking the cash cards and putting it into the machine before the barrier goes up. there was this very non-de-script laminated paper sign saying that timbre was closed, but none of us paid much attention. drove in, parked. jiayan hopped out to check with the timbre crew, and yes it was closed for some private function. disdain, despair, horror. i was half convinced my $2 was deducted since the parking was per-entry. so we parked and ran to the indian uncle to ask.. (i was half prepared to scold him for not verbalizing the non-de-script sign and get my money back) thankfully, 10 min grace period. but after all that time wasted parking, running to the indian dude, and running back to my car, we all ran back and drove to the exit barrier, and i was rushing cos i thought 10 min was up, and i like climbed out of my car window, with my foot still on the brake, cos if not the car will crash into the barrier. lucky i am tall. quite a sight really. i think the ppl in the car behind was really amused. decided to go to timbre@arts house, since our craving for timbre food was yet to be satisfied. so we decided to use beatrice's wonderful 3G-enabled (free) iphone maps, and we located arts house. so we took a drive. boy it was a one hour drive, after getting lost, and going in circles. we finally found the parking place along connaught drive and walked to timbre@arts house. the wooden bench at timbre never felt this butt-comfy. not that my fashionably red beetle black leather seats arent butt comfy. the wooden bench was just.. stationary. driving when lost is remarkably stressful. dinner was fun, but i got emo halfway, and i think i started keeping quiet and thinking about some stuff and like just munched on pizza. i think it was half fatigue. oh yar. lesson learnt: never go to timbre if you drive. damn sian, couldnt and didnt drink. im still quite horrified at my friend's brother's accident from drink-driving. it was really scary. he was in such a bad state. first hand experience of the consequences i guess. okay im going to bathe now, so i dont emo anymore. crap, i keep thinking about things i shouldnt be worried about. its strange. i also think i cant sleep cos im so emo. keeps me awake. i need to KNOW! someone help me find out. -cheryl~* |
